  1. As an IT Administrator I would like to mute alarms during a maintenance window without pausing sensors so that I can ensure I am collecting as much data is possible without creating false positives.

  2. As a Systems Engineer, I want PRTG to distinguish between Down status (when monitored services fail operational thresholds) and Error status (when sensors cannot capture data due to communication/protocol issues) so that I can configure separate notifications to alert operations teams about actual service failures while directing data acquisition problems to monitoring administrators.

  3. As a Systems Engineer,
I want acknowledged sensor alarms to remain in the "Down (Acknowledged)" status after a PRTG server restart,
so that I don't receive duplicate notifications for issues I've already acknowledged and can maintain consistent alarm management across server maintenance windows.

  4. As a PRTG user, I want to create monthly recurring maintenance schedules for devices with scheduled reboots so that I can enable 24/7 push notifications without being woken up by false alarms during planned maintenance activities.

  5. As an IT Operations Engineer, I want to send PRTG notifications in JSON or XML format with custom HTTP headers so that I can directly integrate PRTG alerts with modern ITSM, incident management, and automation systems, eliminating manual steps and custom scripting.

  6. As a Systems Engineer or Network Engineer, I want single-message placeholder variables (%sysloglasterror, %sysloglastwarning) that work in email subject lines so that I can immediately identify critical syslog issues from my inbox or mobile device without opening emails, enabling faster incident response and problem resolution.

  7. As an IT Operations Manager, I want configurable notification triggers for sensors in "Down (Acknowledged)" and "Paused" states so that I can maintain complete operational visibility and ensure downstream systems and teams are informed about all sensor state changes, even when issues are being managed.

Currently, state trigger has the options "When sensor state is Down/ Warning/ Unusual/ Down (Partial)/ Up/ Unknown...", but we need additional status trigger when a sensor enters "Paused" or "Down (acknowledged)" status. E.g. the systems following in the alarming process might need to know, the issue is still current (but acknowledged).

  8. As an IT Infrastructure Manager managing a complex multi-site environment, I want email notifications to display the complete group hierarchy path so that I can immediately understand the exact location and business context of alerts without requiring additional system lookups.

    Desired Outcome/Acceptance Criteria
Users should be able to use a new placeholder (e.g., %devicefullpath or %grouppath) in email notification templates
The placeholder should resolve to display the complete group hierarchy path from probe to device
    Format should be: ProbeName > Group Level 1 > Group Level 2 > ... > Group Level N > DeviceName (IP)
    The feature should work…

  9. As an IT Operations Manager, I want to configure BCC recipients in PRTG email notifications so that I can send alerts to external systems and tracking mailboxes without exposing those addresses to other notification recipients, ensuring security and regulatory compliance.

Use case: we need to integrate PRTG with Jira using email BCC (not API). Jira’s email address must remain hidden from other recipients for security and compliance. Additionally, a copy of each alert must be sent silently to a tracking mailbox.

The goal is to send alerts to Jira via email (address hidden from users) and to archive notifications for…

  10. As a Systems Engineer managing a mixed environment of always-on and intermittently connected devices, I want to use the "Parameters" field "Execute HTTP Action" section of Notification Templates with secure placeholders so that we can make a PRTG HTTP API call without having to put credentials in clear text.

  11. As an IT Infrastructure Manager responsible for maintaining and securing my organization's PRTG installation,
I want to subscribe to receive Paessler security advisories and alerts for PRTG directly (regardless of whether I am the license holder),
so that I can respond promptly to vulnerabilities, apply patches, and maintain the security posture of my monitoring environment without depending on the license holder to forward critical security information.

  12. As a Systems Engineer responsible for configuring PRTG alerting, I want PRTG to send Microsoft Teams notifications through a native, directly supported integration (e.g., Microsoft Graph API) instead of relying on Power Automate workflow webhooks, so that critical alerts reliably reach our Teams channels without recurring webhook failures, silent delivery gaps, or manual reactivation of broken workflows.

    Background:
The Powerautomate workflow connector is very unstable. We’ve added several tweaks to stabilize it but still get “your webhook warnings to a channel has experienced problems” errors from Microsoft, and sometimes it even caused the connector to stop working until reactivation. It’s…

  13. As a Systems Engineer receiving PRTG alerts in a Microsoft Teams channel, I want the notification tile to immediately show the affected device name and key outage details (e.g., after the tree/probe info), so that I can triage alerts at a glance without clicking into each notification, reducing my time-to-assessment during incidents.

    Background:
The notification time in Teams is very general. You have to click on it to view the details of the sensor and outage. This is very time consuming and it would be a lot more usable if the name of the device would appear on this tile…

  14. As a IT Team Leader, I would like to be able to change the text for repeat notifications. Currently this is hard coded as “ESCALATION” and “ESCALATION REPEAT”. This option would allow the text to be changed to “REMINDER” for example.

  15. As an operator of an umbrella monitoring system (which receives notifications from PRTG), I would like PRTG to only send a notification when a predefined amount of same sensors status changes happens in a predefined timeslot. E.g., there are ten of same sensor status changes of same sensortype of different devices in 10 mins which then results in one notification and not ten (for each sensor one notification). This could be useful in a library which holds a large number of same sensors which should not trigger a notification by its own, only if same event happens multiple times.

  16. As a Systems Engineer, I want to select multiple individual users directly in the 'User' field of a notification template, so that I can target the right recipients per template without having to create and maintain a separate user group for each one.

    Background:
I think it would be helpful if I could select multiple users in the “User” field within each notification template. I’d rather not have to create a separate user group for each notification template and maintain the users there, since we use different contact groups for each template. This feature would also be useful for SMS…

  17. As a Systems Engineer,
I want to define text-based filters (include/exclude) on notification triggers so that alerts matching a specific response message (e.g., "No response") are suppressed before delivery,
so that my IT team is not overwhelmed by bulk alert noise from known, recurring issues (such as widespread SNMP timeouts) and can focus on actionable, critical alerts.
