PRTG: Native MFA for Local PRTG Accounts
Priority: High (KRITIS-relevant, multiple customer requests)
Description:
Customers require native Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for local PRTG accounts without dependency on external Identity Providers (Azure AD, Okta).Current State:
MFA only available via SSO/SAML with external IdP
No native MFA for local user accounts in PRTG Network Monitor/Enterprise MonitorCustomer Requirements:
Security-by-design instead of reactive implementation via third-party providers
Digital sovereignty – avoid dependency on US hyperscalers (Azure AD)
KRITIS compliance without additional infrastructure (IdP)15 votes -
PostgreSQL Update
As a KRITIS company, we are committed to addressing security vulnerabilities as quickly as possible.
This also applies to the PostgreSQL database (currently in beta);
in the event of security incidents, there must be a way to update the application itself.
This also applies to the assignment of custom secure passwords for PostgreSQL.5 votes -

Dedicated Web Server for PRTG
As a PRTG system administrator, I want PRTG to have a separate dedicated web server, allowing us to balance the load of user access to PRTG away from the core server.

Disable Acknowledge Alert
In the GUI and in the HTML notification emails, there is an "Acknowledge Alert" which shifts the "Down" to "Down (Acknowledged)" this moves the state which then triggers the "leaving Down" trigger, but the sensor is still down.
With the shift in state from "Down" the escalation settings are negated along with any other notification triggers set to trigger on "down" state after 10 minutes.
Secondary, there is no notification trigger state for the "Down (Acknowledge)" so there is no way to have an escalate notification trigger.Additionally, each of the user groups have the "Ticket System Access" set to…

Intelligent Load Management for Reliable Core Monitoring
As a PRTG administrator running large or heavily loaded environments,
I want PRTG to intelligently prioritize core monitoring and alerting over non‑critical background tasks under high system load,
so that time‑critical alerts and real‑time monitoring remain reliable and responsive even when the system is under heavy load or resource constraints. Background:
In production environments, parallel processes such as extensive report generation, data aggregation, or logging can lead to increased system load. This can negatively impact the responsiveness and reliability of the actual monitoring function. However, time-critical alerts and real-time monitoring, in particular, must not be affected.Proposed feature: implementation of…

Dynamic Device Naming via SNMP sysName with Customizable Name Templates
As a Network Engineer,
I want PRTG to automatically populate and update device names based on SNMP sysName (OID 1.3.6.1.2.1.1.5.0) — with support for customizable name templates similar to the existing Port Name Templates —
so that device names in PRTG always reflect the actual configured hostnames on my devices, eliminating the need to maintain naming in two separate places.5 votes -
Optional Automatic Creation of User Group Home Device Groups and Notification Templates
As an IT Infrastructure Manager,
I want the ability to disable the automatic creation of device groups and notification templates when creating user groups,
So that I can maintain a cleaner organizational structure aligned with my existing Active Directory groups and Exchange distribution lists, without having to repeatedly delete automatically-generated objects that I don't use.Use case: We mainly use Active Directory groups in PRTG, and the group names always differ from the names of the device groups. The objects are always created on the core server, where we do not create any additional sensors. The templates for notifications are…

MSP Branding Support for PRTG Web UI
As an MSP, we want to brand the PRTG web interface so that it represents our company towards our customers. As a minimum requirement, we need an officially supported way to customize the login page. Ideally, this supported scope would also allow basic customization of other key UI elements to match our corporate design.
Today, adjustments would be possible by modifying local HTML and CSS files, but this approach is not update safe and will very likely be overwritten by future PRTG updates. We also could not find a current, supported solution in the Knowledge Base. In addition, the comment…

Inverted Sensor Status Logic ("Alert on Up")
As a Network Engineer, I want to invert the status logic of a sensor (so that the default "Up" condition raises an alarm and the default "Down" condition is treated as normal), so that I can monitor interfaces, services, or resources whose expected state is the opposite of the sensor's built-in behavior.
For example, an SNMP Traffic Sensor could be configured so that an interface coming Up triggers an alarm, while an interface going Down is considered the normal state.

Improve Offline Activation Handling for PPEM Subscription Renewals
=== Summary ===
Many of our PPEM (PRTG Enterprise Monitor) customers operate in offline environments without internet access. In such cases, subscription renewals require offline re-activation, but the current specification provides only a very short grace period. This poses a significant operational burden, especially for MSPs managing multiple PRTG instances.=== Behavior in Offline Environments During Subscription Renewal ===
• After the subscription renewal date, offline re-activation is required.
• This re-activation cannot be performed before the renewal date.
• Once the previous subscription period ends, a 3-day grace period begins, after which UI access becomes unavailable.
• Although monitoring…4 votes -

It would facilitate a LOT if was possible to retrieve which Notification Templates are currently configured on our PRTG domain and their respective configuration (Example: If sends email and where, notification method, if its paused, etc).

SLA Reporter: API for Automation
As a System Integrator/DevOps Engineer, I want a REST API for SLA Reporter that provides programmatic access to key functions (e.g., report generation, SLA configuration), so that I can integrate SLA activities into existing workflows, automate routine tasks, and reduce manual effort.

SLA Reporter: Modern Authentication for Email Sending (OAuth2)
As a IT administrator, I want SLA Reporter to support OAuth2-based email sending, so that I can securely integrate it with Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace without using legacy/basic authentication. Currently, SLA Reporter supports standard email sending, but does not support Modern Authentication (OAuth2).
