1. Faster check for updates

   As a PRTG administrator, I want the ability to check for available updates without immediately triggering a full installer download, so that I can quickly verify if a new version exists and better control when updates are downloaded and installed.

   Currently, if an administrator clicks “Check for Latest Update and Download” in the PRTG UI, the system immediately downloads the full installer — even if the installed version is already up to date.

   This behavior significantly increases the time required to simply verify if a new version is available. In environments where update timing is tightly controlled (e.g., only during maintenance windows), administrators often just want to check for updates — not initiate a full download.

   We propose adding a separate "Check for Update Only" action, or at least a confirmation prompt before downloading.

   This would:

   Save time by avoiding unnecessary downloads

   Improve clarity and control over the update process

   Better align with the “Alert the admin only” setting in Auto-Update

2. Restrict TLS version for PRTG web server

   As a security engineer I want to restrict PRTG web server access to TLS 1.3 only so that I can better secure my environment from exploits on TLS 1.2.

3. PRTG Hosted Monitor: Add self-service back-up restore possibility

4. Add and Edit Sensor Channels

   As an IT Administrator I want to be able to add or delete channels of a sensor versus recreating the entire sensor so that I can avoid redoing work when there is a device change. For example if I were to add an SPF to a switch or router and would need to add a channel or remove a channel.

5. Geographically Diverse Clusters

6. Extend One-Time Maintenance Window to Include Dependency-Based Pausing

   As a Network Administrator managing multiple devices in a hierarchical structure, I want child devices to be automatically paused when I schedule a maintenance window for their parent device, so that I don't receive false alarm notifications from dependent systems during planned maintenance activities.

7. Recycle Bin for Deleted PRTG Objects

   As a PRTG administrator, I want deleted sensors and devices to be temporarily stored in a recycle bin before permanent deletion so that I can quickly restore accidentally deleted monitoring objects and avoid data loss or monitoring gaps.
