  2. OAuth for PRTG SMTP E-Mail Delivery

    As a PRTG Network Administrator responsible for maintaining critical IT monitoring, I need PRTG to support OAuth 2.0 authentication for SMTP email notifications, so that we can continue receiving critical monitoring alerts after Microsoft retires Basic Authentication for SMTP AUTH in Exchange Online.

    Business Impact:
    Microsoft has announced the permanent removal of Basic Authentication for Client Submission (SMTP AUTH) in Exchange Online, with the retirement process beginning March 1, 2026, and completing by April 30, 2026. Without OAuth support in PRTG, our organization will lose all email notifications from our monitoring system, severely impacting our ability to respond to critical…

    As an IT Administrator I would like to mute alarms during a maintenance window without pausing sensors so that I can ensure I am collecting as much data is possible without creating false positives.

  4. Execute Program notifications for PRTG Hosted Monitor

    PRTG Hosted Monitor does not support Execute Program notifications for security reasons. We are evaluating if it is possible to add (limited) Execute Program notification support to PRTG Hosted Monitor.

    As a PRTG user, I want to create monthly recurring maintenance schedules for devices with scheduled reboots so that I can enable 24/7 push notifications without being woken up by false alarms during planned maintenance activities.

    As a Network Administrator, I want system information discovered by PRTG (such as system contact, location, description, and hardware details) to be available as variables in notification templates so that I can include relevant system context in alerts without manually maintaining duplicate information, enabling faster incident response and more informative notifications.
