  1. As a Systems Engineer using SSO-based authentication,
I want to be able to log in to the PRTG mobile app using my organization's SSO credentials,
so that I can monitor my infrastructure without needing a separate local PRTG account, and in compliance with my organization's security policies.

  2. As a IT Administrator using PRTG I have a compliance requirement to rotate all passwords automatically with GMSA functionality in Windows so that I can avoid using shared passwords which are not rotated.

  3. As an IT Administrator, I want PRTG to recognize and authenticate users who are members of nested Active Directory groups so that I can maintain our existing AD organizational structure and security policies without having to flatten group hierarchies or create duplicate memberships specifically for PRTG access.

  4. As an IT Infrastructure Manager, I would like to implement SSO integration with OIDC. Our IDP automatically generates an encrypted authorization token.
PRTG does not support encrypted authorization tokens as a login mechanism; it only supports ID tokens (JWT) that are not encrypted.

  5. As an IT Infrastructure Manager who uses PRTG MultiBoard daily, I want to launch directly into the MultiBoard interface without navigating through the main PRTG Desktop application, so that I can immediately access my centralized monitoring dashboards and eliminate unnecessary steps from my daily workflow.

  6. As a Systems Administrator managing PRTG user access,
I want the ability to change the primary group assignment for Active Directory users who are members of multiple synchronized AD groups in PRTG,
So that I can reorganize and remove AD groups without being forced to first delete user accounts, enabling more flexible user and group lifecycle management.

  7. As an IT Infrastructure Manager, I want to retrieve all device groups with their associated AD group access permissions, user roles, and LDAP mappings using the PRTG API so that I can automate comprehensive access rights monitoring, and avoid checking manually each group's permissions.

  8. As an IT Operations Manager, I want to view a centralized user activity log that shows all actions performed by each user account across my PRTG installation, so that I can maintain accountability, ensure compliance, track training needs, and quickly identify the source of configuration changes or issues.

  9. As an IT Infrastructure Manager managing a PRTG deployment accessible via multiple DNS aliases,
I want to configure multiple External Callback URLs for Single Sign-On (SSO),
so that SSO authentication works seamlessly regardless of which DNS alias my users use to access PRTG.

    Background:
We are using PRTG under multiple aliases, but PRTG currently supports only a single External Callback URL for SSO.

Since the predefined Available Callback URLs do not include all required aliases, we would like to request a feature enhancement to support multiple callback URLs, for example via comma-separated values or multi-entry configuration. This would better support…

  10. As an IT Infrastructure Manager managing a multi-account AWS landing zone,
I want to configure PRTG to use the AWS STS AssumeRole mechanism from a single central monitoring account,
so that I can monitor resources across all AWS accounts without creating and managing dedicated IAM users with access keys in each account, thereby improving security and reducing operational overhead.

    Use case:

Our AWS environment consists of a landing zone with many accounts. We need to monitor resources across all accounts, but for security reasons we cannot have a user with access keys in each account. We could have a single…

  11. As an IT Infrastructure Manager, I want to configure the SSO prompt behavior in PRTG's Entra ID integration (e.g., use cached session vs. show account picker) so that I can control the login experience for my users and support environments where multiple accounts need to be selectable.

SSO with EntraID presently has the prompt field hard-coded into the Authorization URL as prompt=none. But what if the customer would like the account selector to come up, and not used a cached profile. I tried appending the authorization URL with ?prompt=select_account only to get the error stating prompt was duplicated in use.

  12. As a PRTG user I would need an improved way to view and manage logged-in PRTG users. Although there is a script to list logged-in users, this functionality could be directly integrated into the PRTG interface for a smoother user experience. This functionality helps to have a real-time overview of all logged in users, analysis user logins for capacity utilization planning, and identify inactive users.

  13. As an IT Infrastructure Manager working in a non-Microsoft environment (e.g., Linux-based or mixed infrastructure), I want PRTG to natively support generic LDAP directories for user authentication and management so that I can centralize user access control without having to manually maintain separate PRTG user accounts.
For now, PRTG offers native integration only with Active Directory. As a result, in a non-AD environment, integration with the existing system remains limited and can generate administrative overhead.

  14. As a PRTG administrator, I want to integrate CyberArk credential provider with PRTG so that I can securely manage and retrieve credentials for monitoring devices without storing sensitive authentication information directly in PRTG
