Granular Action-Based User Permissions in PRTG
As an IT Infrastructure Manager,
I want to define granular, action-level permissions for users and user groups (e.g., allow pausing/resuming sensors, acknowledging alarms, but restrict editing settings or deleting objects),
so that I can safely delegate operational tasks to my team members without granting them broader access than their role requires.

Thank you again for submitting your idea to Paessler. We truly appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback.
After careful evaluation, we've decided to decline this idea. Implementing fully granular, action-level permissions adds significant complexity to the system and is not something we currently have plans to pursue. PRTG's existing user group and access rights model covers the most common delegation scenarios, and we don't see sufficient demand at this time to justify the effort required for this level of granularity.
Granular action-based permissions (e.g., allow pause but not delete) would require a fundamental re-architecture of the permission system. This level of complexity is not currently on our roadmap.
We recommend using PRTG's existing read/write access rights per object group to control what different team members can access.
While this idea won't be moving forward, we encourage you to continue sharing your thoughts with us — your input helps shape the future of our products.
