Currently, obsolete channels cannot be removed individually. The only workaround is to delete and recreate the sensor, which also causes the loss of all historical data.
In dynamic environments, such as Cisco devices with removable SFP transceivers, this becomes a real operational challenge. Allowing administrators to manually delete unused channels while retaining sensor history would greatly improve usability and maintenance.

Existing sensors do not re-scan their available channels after creation. If new hardware, such as Cisco SFP modules, is added later, the corresponding metrics are not detected.
Currently, the only solution is to delete and recreate the sensor, which causes the loss of all historical data.
A "Refresh Channels" or "Re-discover Channels" function would allow sensors to detect newly available metrics while preserving their history. This would be extremely valuable in dynamic environments.
